Temporary Consultancy Teams

Save the Children in Vietnam (SC) works to promote every child’s rights to survival, protection, participation and development as set forth in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The current programme focuses on the following core sectors: Health and Nutrition; HIV/AIDS prevention; Care and support; Education; Child protection; Child-focused emergency preparedness and response; Child rights
agenda, including Civil society development, Economic opportunities, Child poverty Research, and Advocacy for child-friendly development policy and practice.

Temporary consultancy teams: 2 months
1. A team of Vietnamese Consultants for development of bilingual material for teaching Vietnamese in primary school
- Teaching guidebook for teachers to support ethnic minority children to study Vietnamese as second language: section of reading, sentence structures and writing materials in Vietnamese subject.
- Revision the developed material above with inputs from Save the Children; ensure the quality of the end product.

Required Qualifications
- Experienced in curriculum and material development in Vietnamese subject and teaching Vietnamese in primary education in Vietnam.
- Good skills and experiences in education in multilingualism and multi-literacy in minority ethnic communities in Viet Nam
- Proven experiences in developing materials for use with primary children, including ethnic minority children in Vietnam, is also a requirement.
- Ability to work with multi-cultural groups.

2. A team of Vietnamese Consultants for development of bilingual material for teaching Mathematics in primary school
A team of consultants will work with Save the Children team to develop the following extended materials:
- assessment tool and procedures based on the child development standard for ethnic minority children enter the grade 1
- the guideline for teaching mathematics for ethnic minority children in which Vietnamese is the second language.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experienced in developing strategies for multi-language literacy programmes with junior consultants and 10 years with senior consultants
- Proven experience in curriculum and material development in Mathematics subject in primary education, including ethnic minority children in Vietnam.
- Experienced in teaching Mathematics subject for primary pupils is also an advantage.
- Strong experiences in education in multilingualism and multi-literacy in minority ethnic communities in Viet Nam
- Ability to work with multi-cultural groups.
