FFI-Vietnam Programme is now seeking for a Community Facilitator to work in Kon Tum

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Position title:            Community Facilitator    
Report to:                National Project Manager
Location:                 Based in Kon Tum with frequent travel to project site in   Kon Plong 
Duration of Contract:  Two years
Probation:                Three months

Background
As part of efforts to support the country’s commitment to mitigate climate change, improved livelihoods and conserve forest and biodiversity, FFI is implementing EU funded programme entitled “Developing community carbon pools for Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation, plus enhancing forest carbon stocks (REDD+) projects in selected ASEAN countries”.
In Vietnam, the Community Carbon Pool Project is located in Kon Plong District, Kon Tum Province.

Main Duties
Under the supervision of National Project Manager, Community facilitator will:
Technical Inputs

1) Guarantee the community’s participation in the project based on FPIC mechanism implementation.
2) Assist field coordinator and biodiversity conservationist in Land Use Planning/Forestland Allocation, Community Forest Management (forest inventory, forest management planning, forest protection and development regulation, forest management institution development; Carbon Inventory; benefit sharing mechanism and Biodiversity assessment, planning and monitoring.
3) Supervise teams of Community and Governmental rangers in forest protection and patrolling.
4) Provide technical advice and assistance in the organization of project events (Meetings, workshops, visits, focus group discussion etc).
5) Provide advice in strategic planning for project coordination and implementation so as to achieve the project objectives, including the proper planning of workflow and efficient utilization of project resources Support the CCB accreditation
6) Actively liaise with project personnel, including consultants/experts, on matters pertaining to the implementation of the project interventions.
7) Support the works of consultants and sub-contractors and sub-grantees, and provide technical input where appropriate.
8) Facilitate the building of good relationships with relevant stakeholders, carry out research, advocacy and lobby as necessary, this include NGOs, research institutions, local and central government agencies, and donor/international development agencies.
9) Actively engage in policy reform dialogues at local and national government levels.

Others
11) Supervise community participants and ensure good team relations, attend regular planning and operational meetings (annual and three monthly at least) with the aim to implement the objectives of the project and build cohesion.
12) Build and maintain good relationships with partners in the implementation of project activities.
13) Ensure good financial reporting of the project in accordance with donor and FFI requirements.
16) Other tasks that may be asked by supervisors.

Requirements
1) Hold a Bachelor of Science in Forestry or National Resources Management or related field.
2) At least 3 years working experiences in Forestry, specially Community Forest Management or biodiversity conservation.
3) Strong communication skills (Skillful to work with local indigenous people and governments at grassroot levels). To be indigenous people or fluent with local indigenous language as an advantage. 
4) Strong relationship-building and facilitation skills
5) A demonstrated commitment to basic level of English
