Background information

FHI 360 is a non-profit human development organization dedicated to improving lives in lasting ways by advancing integrated, locally driven solutions. Our staff includes experts in health, education, nutrition, environment, economic development, civil society, gender, youth, research and technology; creating a unique mix of capabilities to address today’s development challenges. FHI 360 serves more than 60 countries, all 50 U.S. states and all U.S. territories.

In Vietnam, FHI 360 promotes the health and wellbeing of the Vietnamese people, particularly vulnerable and marginalized populations. The organization works with the Vietnam Ministry of Health and other national bodies, as well as provincial and district-level health services to achieve project aims.

FHI 360 is interested in developing a comprehensive understanding of the potential for business operation models in the Vietnamese context. To support this effort, FHI 360 is seeking a qualified local consultant or firm to conduct two one- day workshops on for management level staff of FHI 360 VNM to learn more about market-based approaches including the rationale, modalities, lingo, and examples of success stories/ solutions.

The Consultant/ Consultancy firm is expected to provide technical and professional supports according to the scope of work in the table below.

Scope of work

Under this scope of work, the FHI 360 requests the consultancy services from the Consultant to perform the following tasks with the specified deliverables and timelines for the period from: September 19 – 30  2022.

Travel

The consultant is not required to travel.

Qualification Requirements for individual/firm:

  • Master’s degree or higher in public health, social science, legal, business administration or related field with relevant experience in international development programs
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in research, data analysis, policy advocacy or fund raising, market-based approach. Preferably experience in private sector partnerships and social enterprise development for funded programs
  • Understanding of the Vietnam legal framework and experience in working with various stakeholders including the Government, provincial partners, private sector, and development partners.
  • Thorough understanding of the funding activities, latest approaches of USAID and various donors, and local entities in the development sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in workshop/meeting facilitation
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.

Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on the applicants’ experience and qualifications as detailed above.

  • Business license (for firm)
  • Letter of interest that briefs relevant qualification and experience
