Research on energy efficiency measures to improve fuel management practices in tea factories
Mainstreaming Sustainable Management of Tea Production Landscapes
VECO Vietnam is the Vietnamese country office of the Belgian-based International non-governmental organisation Vredeseilanden.
VECO Vietnam is acting as Rainforest Alliance’s implementing partner and national coordinator for the project namely Mainstreaming Sustainable Management of Tea Production Landscapes which is funded by UNEP through the Global Environmental facility (GEF) with a general objective to reduce land degradation associated with tea production in Asia by supporting farmers and catalysing industry and government leaders to mainstream sustainable land management (SLM) and integrated natural resource management (INRM) practices.
As an effort to promote sustainable landscape management, one of the project intervention areas is to support energy efficiency measures to improve fuel management practices in tea factories.
In this context, VECO Vietnam is looking for a consultant or a consulting company who will be engaged to conduct a research on fuel efficiency.
Objectives:
The research will be carried out to serve the following objectives:

Assess the current practices of using wood as fuel in tea production in at least 2 (two) selected tea factories;

Monitor and assess the efficiency in using wood fuel, taking into account the moisture level of fuel wood and the interrelation towards the produces of tea in quantity and quality

Based on the findings, recommend the measures to improve fuel management practices in tea factories; and
-
Present the research in a national workshop for policy advocacy.

Deadline of application submission:
Interested candidate shall submit a proposed research plan including research methodology, timing, human resources and budget not later than 26 July 2017. Only shortlisted candidates would be contacted for interview.
