1. Introduction
The Avian and Pandemic Influenza Initiative (APII) is a three-year project awarded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to Abt Associates Inc. (Abt) and its partners in October 2009. The project aims to build the capacity of the Government of Vietnam (GVN) and its counterparts to identify, prevent and control avian influenza outbreaks in both animals and humans. In addition to national level activities, the project has been working in the five focus provinces: Can Tho, Ha Nam, Hung Yen, Kien Giang, and Quang Tri.
The coming period (Feb10–May30) will be busy time for the BCC Team with BCC seasonal campaign in the five focus provinces (Jan-Apr 2011); support the provinces to develop their provincial integrated communication plan; administer the publication of API Newsletter; organize 5 day-updated training for provincial trainers to run the BCC campaign Y2…To support BCC team to fulfill its tasks, the project will need an intern to support administrative tasks.
2. Purpose of the work
For this purpose, we need to hire an intern for BCC team supervised by its BCC manager who can help with logistics mainly for BCC campaign implementation in all 5 provinces as described below.
3. Activities required:
- Support BCC manager in preparation of BCC revised material duplication for pretesting in provinces
- Provide logistic supports for updated training courses for provincial BCC trainers on new BCC materials
- Help with following-up phone calls to agencies regarding project documentation, articles for newsletters, etc.
- Support BCC manager in setting logistic preparation for KAP
- Others as requested by and mutually agreed with technical director for BCC
4. Duration:
Feb 10–May 30, 2011, mainly in APII office in Ha Noi with selected travel to provinces as needed and approved by the Technical Director for BCC
