Project Officer

The Norwegian Mission Alliance (NMA) is a Christian NGO working among poor and marginalized groups of the population and a non-discrimination organization. A special attention is given to poor women, children, youth and people with disabilities.
NMA development assistance is based on mutual understanding and close cooperation with local partners and beneficiaries. Our strategy focuses on building community’s adaptation to climate change and participation for all. The Norwegian Mission Alliance was established in 1901, and has solid funding.

NMA-V invites applicants from highly qualified Vietnamese nationals for the position as:

Project Officer (permanent position)

Community development and climate change adaptation

The main responsibility of this position will be to support and strengthen our climate change adaptation projects in the Mekong delta provinces. This position includes strategic project planning, management, operational project related tasks and strategic communication activities. The project officer is part of our project operational team, and will also interact with various thematic and cross cutting areas, such as income generation, community mobilization, disability inclusion, gender equality and education.

We are seeking a highly-qualified candidate with a relevant, university education or similar, and in the field of environment changes is an advantage. We require the candidate to have at least 3 years of relevant proved working experience with INGO/international development organizations, and strong knowledge of project planning, management and reporting. Practical working experience with community climate change adaptation is an advantage. The candidate should also possess independent and team work abilities and strong skills in relationship building at various levels and need to have solid understanding on rights-based approach, gender, advocacy work and community mobilization.

The position requires excellent English skills, both written and verbal, and ability to travel frequently to the project sites.

Place of work is Ho Chi Minh City, extensive traveling to the Mekong Delta should be expected
