Regional Communications and Development Officer

Summary:
EMW is looking for a pro-active, sociable, and articulate Regional Communications and Development Officer based in HCMC to assist in the promotion of the organization’s mission, vision, projects, and achievements to donors, prospect donors, local partners and members of the media in Vietnam and throughout Southeast Asia. East Meets West Foundation is a US-based nongovernmental organization that assists disadvantaged communities through programs in education, health, clean water and sanitation.

Tasks/Responsibilities:    

1. Assist communications team in media relations:  
- Cultivate relationships with media throughout Southeast Asia, and maintain an up-to-date media list
- Develop press releases, event advisories, invitations, and articles in Vietnamese and English to disseminate to media and local partners.
- Update the content for EMW’s website and social media outlets.
- Translate for EMW staff members at public events and meetings and translate other PR documents, when necessary.
- Prepare news clipping and event reports as requested.
- Other PR/communications tasks as assigned by the supervisors.

2. Assist fundraising team in donor relations and cultivation:
- Assist Regional Communications and Development Manager with donor relations and correspondence.
- Help plan site visits and assure that all necessary permissions and documents are obtained prior to their visit.
- Coordinate the logistics of fundraising and media events related to donors such as handover events, MOU signing ceremonies, etc.
- Database maintenance.
- Ensure the confidentiality of donor information and information of the organization.
- Other ad hoc assignments as requested.

3. Assist in marketing and promotion of EMW in HCMC
- Identify public speaking opportunities where representatives of EMW can present their work.
- Pursue valuable partnerships with local businesses to raise the profile of EMW in HCMC.
- Disseminate EMW brochures and other materials.
- Attend networking events and follow up on new contacts.

Job Specifications/Qualifications:
- University degree, in English, Sales, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations,  International Relations, International Business, and/or related studies 
- Minimum of 1-3 years relevant work experience in sales, marketing, public relations, event management, or social and community development 
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite 
- Possess professional attitude and diligence
- Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Advanced liaison and networking skills, sound analytical skills
- Proficiency with written and verbal communication skills in English and Vietnamese
- Able to work independently as well as work in a team
- Able to work under pressure and deadline
- Be willing to travel away from home as required

Salary and benefits will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
