Researcher(s) for market research and marketing plan development

Rikolto in Vietnam (previously VECO Vietnam) is a member of Rikolto, an international NGO with its International Office in Leuven, Belgium.

Rikolto envisions a world with production and consumption systems that allow poverty and hunger to be eradicated and that do not burden our planet more than it can bear. Therefore, Rikolto enables and supports smallholder farmers to take up their role in rural poverty alleviation and to contribute to feeding a growing world population in a sustainable way.

In the period of 2018 and 2021, Rikolto International in Vietnam supports its partners to implement the project “Development of safe vegetable chains for smallholder farmers in Ha Nam and Hanoi”.

In an effort to support farmer organizations to access to the market, Rikolto in Vietnam, on behalf of our partners, is looking for a researcher (or a group of researchers) to conduct a market research identifying barriers and opportunities in accessing the safe vegetable market as well as develop a feasible marketing plan for our target safe vegetable cooperatives in this project.

Requirements:

• The lead researcher: at least 5 years of experience in doing market research on agricultural products, consumer goods or food products (both quantitative and qualitative research);
• Experience in researching vegetable chain is desirable;
• Practical experience on strengthening the production and business capacity of farmer organizations (collaborative groups, cooperatives);
• Practical experience in market linkages and agricultural products marketing plan development for farmers.

Submission of proposal:

The applicants will send a detailed working plan, including activities, methods, timeline and resources (budget) for the research prior to April 10, 2019. Only shortlisted candidates would be contacted.
