Short-Term Service of a Photographer for VVOB Vietnam

1. BACKGROUND
The Flemish Association for Development Cooperation and Technical Assistance (VVOB) is a non-profit organization that by order of the Flemish and the Belgian government contributes to the improvement of the quality of education in developing countries in Asia, Africa and South America.

In 2012, to celebrate VVOB’s 30th anniversary, VVOB will produce a photo- book.
VVOB Vietnam seeks a professional photographer to provide a number of nice and relevant pictures illustrating VVOB’s impact in Vietnam,

2. ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT

The current education programme aims to improve the quality of lower secondary education  through an integrated support to the Active Teaching and Learning (ATL).

3. OBJECTIVES
Shooting and providing high quality and resolution pictures following the story lines developed by VVOB Vietnam team.   
The photographer will be required to have his/her own equipments. The photographer will make a financial proposal to accomplish this assignment.  

4. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TIMEFRAME

Responsibilities:
Capture the high resolution and quality pictures in Hanoi and possibly neighboring area on illustrating Active Teaching and Learing following 4 story lines of VVOB Vietnam  
Provide at least 3 pictures for each story line, meaning 12 pictures in total
Caption each photo with specific details such as location, people on the pictures

Specific requirement for the pictures:
landscape format
colour.
at least 3071 pixels x 2480 pixels (at least 300 dots per inch on a printed format of 260mm width x 210mm height). We prefer bigger resolution.
Photo should be submitted in digital version and in print.
Photos will be printed at least at 260mm width x 210mm height.

Time frame:

ASAP: meet with VVOB Vietnam to agree on financial proposal and to make action plan
Capture pictures for the period of 1-16/3/2012
Provide final pictures (12 in total) by 20/3/2012

Copyrights:
All intellectual Property Rights of the photographs will be exclusively transferred to VVOB.

5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
professional Vietnamese photographer
At least 3 years work experience in photography
Knowledge of English will be an asset
Advanced knowledge and skills of Photoshop

Financial proposal (fee on a per day basis, other cost if applicable – transport cost during assignment will be separately refunded)

7. REMUNERATION

The remuneration is based on fees for National Experts and National Consultants in the UN- EU Guidelines for Financing of Local Costs in Development Co-operation with Vietnam. The transportation will be paid separately upon real cost.
