Japan Provides Non-Refundable Aid for 18 Projects In Vietnam

The Japanese Embassy in Vietnam on March 21 signed several documents to grant non-refundable aid worth nearly $2 million for 18 projects in 15 localities throughout Vietnam. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Umeda Kunio said despite rapid urbanization and economic growth in Vietnam, many people are yet to have access to comprehensive education and healthcare services. In addition, Vietnam is still facing many challenges due to unexploded ordnances (UXOs) left from the war 40 years ago, have major impacts on a large scale, the Ambassador noted. He pointed out that the 18 funded projects will cover various fields including healthcare, preschool and primary education, agricultural production, UXO clearance, vocational training, and infrastructure improvements, among others.
