Robins Launches Community Project to Support Poor Students

The Robins department store, a member of Central Group Vietnam, in coordination with Saigon Children Charity, has launched a project called “Em mo” (My Dream). The project has been officially implemented since last month to create a useful playground and raise funds for scholarships for disadvantaged children. Local veteran fashion designer Si Hoang, who accompanies the project, on August 20 instructed poverty-stricken sixth and seventh grade students from the coastal district of Can Gio in HCMC to learn painting at the HCMC Children’s House in District 1. Based on the drawings by these children, Robins has designed a collection of pillows which is being put up for sale at its property within three months starting from September 8. All the proceeds from the pillowsales worth estimated at VND100 million will be used to grant scholarships to poor students in Can Gio District. The community project has received support from the authority of District 7, Can Gio Women’s Union, Saigon Children Charity, and other donors. (english.thesaigontimes.vn Sept 13)
