Vietnam, Australia Seal MoU on Improving Online Tertiary Education Quality

The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) and the Australian Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA) have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), under which TEQSA will help improve the quality of online tertiary education in Vietnam. Present at the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Manh Hung, Ambassador to Vietnam Craig Chittick, Anthony McClaran, chief executive officer of TEQSA, and other officials of both sides. According to MoU, MoET and TEQSA will collaborate in policy exchange and regulations on degree recognition. Recently, MoET and Australia also jointly held a workshop to review the Australian online education quality assurance tool developed to support APEC economies. Currently, Vietnam has nearly 24,000 students studying across Australian universities and institutes. Between 3,000 and 3,500 graduates from Australian universities have returned home, contributing significantly to the nation’s reform and socioeconomic development.
