2009 Asia-Pacific Housing Forum (APHF)

Habitat for Humanity International is proud to announce the 2009 Asia-Pacific Housing Forum (APHF) to be held from 7th to 9th September 2009 at the Dusit Thani Manila Hotel, Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines. This major regional conference is being organized in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The first APHF was held in Singapore in 2007 and was attended by participants representing 28 countries.

This biennial event gathers together development practitioners from various sectors. Guided by the theme, “Maximizing Urban Poverty Housing Solutions for Greater Results”, APHF 2009 aims to find strategies and solutions to turn slums into productive assets of cities, present concrete cases or innovations to make the urban housing value chain work for the poor,  forge partnerships between and among stakeholders to effectively implement innovative solutions for urban poverty housing and development,  and explore alternatives that would bridge gaps between emergency relief and sustainable development.

As a trusted and committed partner to the cause of eliminating poverty housing, we wish to invite you or a representative of your organization to participate in the 2009 Asia-Pacific Housing Forum. We are confident that your participation will help us generate more profound results in responding to urban poverty housing’s most pressing concerns.
