Dear members:

As Typhoon CONSON approaches landfall -- and appears to be headed straight
for Hanoi -- I wish to point your attention to PDC's Atlas (
http://www.pdc.org/atlas) for latest update on location, wind speed, etc. of
the storm. Note that you can also download an app to use this on your
iPhone.

In addition, PDC has an EMOPS program that has the latest information and
other "products" imbedded into the program. It also "integrates" the
various weather service predictions. So, for example, you will see the
storm is currently predicted to landfall on Nam Dinh Province at 1712Z time
(~ midnight tonight). This is different from the predicted path of storm
currently on the front page of the ccfsc website.

PDC has created a temp generic account to access EMOPS for any of the DMWG
member to use. This user account has read access only (no posting products,
etc.) and will be disabled once the event is over. If anyone would like to
have future access please get their info (or ask them to register through
EMOPS’s login page) so that we can set up a permanent account for them.

You can access EMOPS from the www.pdc.org home page -- click button on upper
right side.

PDC staff are working to ensure that the latest weather information,
forecasts and other products are incorporated into these programs. I hope
this information is useful to the DMWG members.
Best regards,
Nathan
