Nguyen Thanh Huyen (Ms.)
HROD Officer
ActionAid International Vietnam.
CONSULTANCY OPPORTUNITY
ActionAid is an international development agency whose aim is to fight
poverty worldwide. Formed in 1972 in the UK, for over 30 years we have
been growing and expanding to where we are today - helping the world's
poorest and most disadvantaged people in 42 countries worldwide.
ActionAid has become internationalised in 2003 and its headquarter is
based in Johannesburg, South Africa. In all of our country programmes
we work with local partners to make the most of their knowledge and
experience.
ActionAid operates in twelve Asian countries, working and campaigning
on education, women’s rights, food and hunger, governance, HIV&AIDS,
and conflict and emergencies.
In Vietnam, ActionAid operates in 20 provinces in mountainous and
remote regions, including urban areas of Ho Chi Minh City since 1989.
AAV plans to conduct an external evaluation for its project “Building
Community Resilience through restoration of livelihood and Disaster
Preparedness in Flood Affected Communes of Ha Tinh Province in
Vietnam” (ECHO2 Project) which is implemented from April 15, 2008 to
April 15, 2009 in Loc Ha and Vu Quang districts, Ha Tinh province. The
evaluation is scheduled from April 16 to May 16, 2009. In order to do
it, it is necessary to recruit an external evaluator who have deep
knowledge in emergency response and would basically work as evaluator
for the said external evaluation. The total working time of the
evaluator would be around 10 – 15 days. The Emergency Coordinator of
AAV will discuss with the external evaluator for a detailed plan of
the review (the detailed time frame for the evaluator).
