							Nearly a hundred hectares of pine forest in the central province
 of Ha Tinh were burned down by a series of five sweeping fires over the

							An earthquake measuring 4.7 degrees on the Richter scale 
occurred offshore near the central province of Phan Thiet yesterday 
morning. The location of the quake was at the co-ordinate of 10.5 
degrees northern latitude and 109 degrees eastern longitude.

							Prolonged hot weather and drought, plus the shortage of 
electricity, has pounded the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh.
