Dear
DMWG members,
My
name is TRAN Thanh Thuan, I am currently an MSc student in Risk, Crisis and
Disaster Management with Leicester University, UK.
I
am preparing for my final year dissertation and my area of
interest is the Coordination of Humanitarian Agencies Responses to
Natural Disasters. My dissertation working title is as followed:
‘Humanitarian
Logistics to natural disaster: Case study of Typhoon Ketsana in
Central Vietnam - September 2009.’
In
this study I will look at the coordination level(s) between national
and international stakeholders involved in emergency responses to
natural disasters in Vietnam. As stated in the dissertation’s
title, I intend to carry out an assessment of the level of
coordination in emergency situations and its effectiveness through a
single case study i.e. the emergency response to Typhoon Ketsana
which hit Vietnam in September 2009.
In
order to gather some data and firsthand experiences of the situation,
I would be grateful if members of the Disaster Mitigation Working
Group could participate to my research study by answering the
questionnaire I have prepared. (See PDF file attached)
For further information you can contact me at the following email address

or ttt4 at le.ac.uk or even call me
at the following Vinaphone mobile number 0913551174 for further
details or inquiries.
I have just completed two missions in Port au
Prince, Haiti and will be back in Vietnam from December 3rd,
2010 onward.
Yours
sincerely,
TRAN
Thanh Thuan
