Dear all
I am happy to share with you the La Nina update:
For Southeast Asia: There is high confidence that the Philippines and parts of Indonesia will experience
above-normal rainfall this October-December. There is medium confidence that parts of the Andaman
Islands, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam will experience above-normal
rainfall this October - December (see regional forecast map below). The risks of flooding events and
landslides are therefore increased..
Best regards
Tao

Dear Colleagues,
Please see the latest La Nina updates issued through IRI/climate center. While you will notice a general global update there is also a detailed one for Asia and the Pacific.
In next couple of weeks time I shall get back to you all with certain suggestion, to get your feedback, for further improving the seasonal forecast, early warning alerts and how can we ensure regular/timely interaction around enhanced forecasting system vis-a-vis preparedness measures.
Regards, Pankaj
