(Sorry for any cross-posting!)

Dear Friends & Colleagues,

You may be aware that the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and

Emergency Response (AADMER) came into force on 24 Dec 2009 after being

ratified by all ten member states. The aim of AADMER is to establish

regional mechanisms to reduce disaster losses and strengthen joint

responses to disaster emergencies through interstate co-operation. The

Agreement affirms ASEAN's commitment to the Hyogo Framework of Action
(HFA)

and is the first legally-binding HFA-related instrument in the world.

With close coordination with the Department of Dykes, Flood & Storm

Control (DDFSC MARD), which is currently the AADMER National Focal Point
in

Vietnam, ASEAN Secretariat and support from European Commission, the

following AADMER documents (hard copies) have been available in both

English and Vietnamese languages for sharing.

Please tick the table below and email to Ms. Vu Thi Minh Thuy <

vu_thi_minh_thuy at wvi.org> with your mailing address if your agency or
you

is interested in obtaining the documents mentioned. As the number of
hard

copies are limited, for the time being we can be able to provide one
copy

of each document per each agency or individual on the basis "first come

first served"
