turned into arts and was popularized throughout Japan, thus become not
only typical part of the Japanese folklore but also common asset of the
human kind.

Further information:

    1. *Origami*

*Origami* (from /oru/ meaning "folding", and /kami/ meaning "paper") is
the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. The goal of this art is
to create a representation of an object using geometric folds and crease
patterns preferably without the use of gluing or cutting the paper, and
using only one piece of paper.

Origami only uses a small number of different folds, but they can be
combined in a variety of ways to make intricate designs. The most well
known form is probably the Japanese paper crane.

In Origami, the role of an author - the person who designs the first
model - seems to be not as important as that in other forms of art. That
is because the first model will be modified by different folders. Anyone
who loves Origami remembers some models and rarely pays much attention
to the question who is the designer of such models.

It is estimated that currently there are about ten thousand models
worldwide. However, the beautiful and popular ones are not many,
accounting for about one tenth, perhaps.

A model is considered beautiful when, apart from representing basic
characteristics of the described object, it is simple in folding
sequence. This simplicity is achieved through clear rules; minimum
amount of folds, and optimal use of paper area. As a result, folders can
remember easily and perform anywhere without depending on an instruction
book.

    2. *VOG*

VOG stands for Vietnam Origami Group - a group of Vietnamese Origami lovers.

The group sets the purpose of using Origami as a medium to bridge the
gap between people, to connect all Vietnamese Origami folders in a
united and strong community. Another purpose is to exchange with, and
learn from everyone who practices Origami worldwidwe. VOG hopes to make
Origami well-known both domestically and internationally.

Activities of VOG focus on designing and encouraging its members to
design Origami to stimulate and awake their sleeping potential.
