*Scope of Work*


     *Technical Editing for Drug Addiction Counseling Training Curriculum*

*USAID/FHI Drug Addiction Capacity Building *



With the funding of PEPFAR through USAID, FHI Vietnam has developed a
comprehensive training curriculum aimed at building the capacity of drug
counseling services in Vietnam. The training package, which consists of
slides and teaching notes has been developed since 2006 and undergone
extensive field-testing and revision. In order to ensure professional
format and consistency of language in the curriculum before official
publishing, FHI is seeking a professional editor to do the final editing
of the product.


*Agency:* Family Health International, Hanoi, Vietnam


*Length of consultancy:*  up to 20 person days over one month


*Tasks:* The training curriculum is now over 1000 pages long.  FHI is
seeking a suitably qualified editor for the document.  The consultant
will do the following tasks:

     * ensure consistent terminology and style throughout the document
     * clearly identify sections of the training materials that refer to
       “teachers notes”, “training instructions” and “general
       information” and mark them accordingly
     * perform a final copy edit

The editor will be required to work to meet the tight deadlines and take
direction from FHI staff.


*Desired skill set:* experience in editing, demonstrated writing skills,
technical understanding of counselling, and social work.


*Deliveries:  *The consultant will work at the FHI office in Hanoi with
staff from FHI and the printing house to edit the curriculum.  The
deadline for completing this work is April 30th, 2009. **
