CALL
FOR NOMINATION

THE
NOMINATION PROCESS:

    1. Any indigenous organization/ institution (IPO/ Institution) can
submit their nomination to the Steering Committee. The information provided
shall be able to demonstrate that the nominee possesses the qualifications
for eligible candidate with the criteria mentioned below. The nomination
should also include the acceptance letter of the candidate, together with
her/his Curriculum Vitae  (CV). The CV should not be longer than 3 pages
(8x11) as this will be translated in national languages.The nomination form
is attached. The deadline of submission is July 31 (Friday) 2009, with the
acceptance letter and CV of the candidate as attachments.
    2. The nomination shall also be endorsed by another IPO/ Institution
from a different country of the region. The endorsement letter should be
signed and shall provide the bases/reasons for endorsement. This should be
submitted, together with the nomination form.
    3. One organization cannot nominate or endorse more than one candidate.
    4. The Steering Committee shall accept, review and verify the
nominations. The SC will circulate the list of candidates together with
their CV to the country focal persons, indigenous organizations/
institutions in Asia for their information and guidance. The list shall be
circulated before August 15, 2009

CRITERIA
FOR CANDIDATES

    1. Must be indigenous and active in any indigenous
organization/institution
    2. Familiar with the UN System and particularly to the mandate of the
UNPFii
    3. With relative experience in working with indigenous peoples at the
national, regional and international
    4. Speak at least one of the UN languages (English)
    5. Must not be holding any government or UN post

Committee Technical Secretariat not later than JULY 31,2009 (FRIDAY):
