[Ngo Climate Change] ICA project introduction

I am Thuy Duong, secretary and communication Officer of “Impacts of Climate
change and adapting bio-security measures for Northern Vietnam’s
aquaculture” (in short: ICA project), which is funded by Danida.


For your information, ICA project is a non-refundable technical assistance
from Danida Fellowship Center (DFC), Denmark. The host organization is
Research Institute for Aquaculture No.1, Danish partners and technical
advisors come from Department for Veterinary Disease Biology, Faculty of
Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen (UC – LIFE).* “Impacts of climate
change and adapting bio-security measure for aquaculture in northern Vietnam
*” project was initially signed on December 6th, 2011 between the Embassy
of Denmark and Research Institute for Aquaculture No.1 and will be
implemented in main aquaculture areas in the northern Vietnam for a period
of 3 years, from 12/2011 to 12/2014 with the total budget at DKK 4.774.689
(around US $950.000 estimated).


The project has built base on the research question ”How climate change
impact to aquaculture infrastructure, fish diseases, food safety, and
aquaculture farmer’s livelihood?”, the target of ICA project is to assess
the impacts of climate change to aquaculture in northern Viet Nam and
propose adapting measures for sustaining aquaculture development and
improving biosecurity. The project will also propose and disseminate
mitigation measures of climate change for major aquaculture system to
authorities, farmers and other stakeholders.

Moreover, as we have learnt about your climate change network, your
information and connection, we would like to join your climate change’s
