All fairs will be held from *3:00 to 7:00 p.m.*


39 regionally accredited colleges and universities from 20 states will 
participate in this fair series, including community colleges and 
four-year institutions offering intensive English, undergraduate and 
graduate programs.


According to the 2013 /Open Doors/ report, issued by the Institute of 
International Education (IIE), Vietnam ranks 8th among all places of 
origin with over 16,000 students in the U.S. in 2012/13 and 3rd in 
international enrollment at community colleges.  The latest SEVIS update 
<http://markashwill.com/2014/02/06/over-20000-vietnamese-students-in-the-u-s-says-sevis/> 
revealed that there are over 20,000 Vietnamese studying in the U.S. at 
all levels as of last month.


Parents and students have the opportunity to meet with representatives 
from a wide variety of excellent *U.S. colleges and universities* to 
learn about admission requirements, standardized tests, academic 
programs, scholarship opportunities, extracurricular activities, housing 
options, the student visa process, life in the U.S. and postgraduate 
employment through the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program.


In addition, representatives from many *community colleges* will there 
to tell attendees about the 2+2 option (2 years at a CC and 2 years at a 
four-year school = a Bachelor’s degree), one of the most popular choices 
among Vietnamese student currently studying in the U.S.  This includes 
community colleges in Washington state that offer *high school 
completion programs*, a unique opportunity for students 16 years and 
older and who have already completed grade 10 to earn a high school 
diploma and an Associate’s degree at the same time.
