PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER

The post is offered on a 5-month contract, based in Tu Mo Rong district, Kon
Tum province 



Who we are? 
Founded in 1942, Oxfam Great Britain made its first grant in Vietnam in
1955, and is now a leading global development and humanitarian organization.
Oxfam GB's programmes in Vietnam range across sectors including rural
livelihoods and infrastructure, basic education, disaster management, and
national level social and economic policy change. Oxfam GB is a member of
Oxfam International. 

The role:        As part of the WASH intervention, to safeguard and improve
the public health of the affected population by: 

*	promoting safe WASH practices, including appropriate use and
maintenance of WASH facilities and services; 
*	ensuring appropriate community involvement in the design and
delivery of essential WASH services and facilities; 
*	ensuring effective coordination and integration of Hygiene Promotion
activities with the delivery of water and sanitation services and
facilities.

Reports to:               Project Manager, Typhoon Ketsana Emergency
Response Project in Kon Tum 

Staff reporting to the post:   Public Health Facilitator, Village Health
Volunteers, Field Volunteers 

The requirements: 

*	Vietnamese National 
*	University graduate in any related discipline ( public health
preferred) 
*	At least 4 years of practical experience in appropriate community
development programmes in different contexts.   
*	Experience and understanding of Hygiene Promotion and community
mobilisation in relation to water and sanitation activities 

*	Experiences in developing training materials, organising and
facilitating training  sessions 
*	Humanitarian experience will be an asset. 
*	Understanding of gender issues in development and demonstrable
commitment to promoting gender equality. 
*	Fluency in written and spoken English and Vietnamese 
*	Willingness to live in district town. 

Gross Annual Salary Range:            US$ 13,100 - US$ 17,500 
Benefits: The position is offered a Hard to work allowance which is 20% in
addition to basic salary; per-diem equivalent to VND 5,000,000/month; and
home return fares every 2 completed months of service.
