Dear All,

 

During our regular WASH NGOS WG meeting last week, John (senior Advisor
- MARD) has mentioned that the third phase of RWSS NTP is in the making
and the first draft could be available by May.  This Sunday the
consultant/s will arrive in town for further undertakings and we could
take this opportunity to engage the consultant/s to discuss about the
design and framework of the new programme. 

 

Currently, NGOs are talking about moving from project to programme
approach to support the national programme and this consultation could
be a spring board to open the discussion forum for NGOs, Donors,
government and all stakeholders at large. Therefore this proposed
consultation with NGOs on the new RWSS programme would be relevant to
provide input and improve the stakeholders participation with the
national programme design and implementation in the sprit of alignment
and harmonization towards shared results.   

 

In light of these issues, I am calling an extraordinary/emergency
meeting next Wednesday 24th April at 2:00 pm in NGO resource centre
meeting room.  I strongly encourage you all to come and take active role
in the discussion/consultation. Please let us know your participation
asap.

I would like to take this opportunity and remind you all to send your
comments/inputs/feedback on the TOR, 2010 Work Plan and selected themes
for the next NGOs workshop the latest by next Thursday 1 April, 2010.
 
 
4 following categories are guildance for group Workplan
 
 
    * How to go from project scale to program scale: Experiences from
sanitation and hygiene
    * O&M of small water supply system
    * New technology (low cost, appropriate technologies)
    * Sanitation subsidies - do they work?
 
Other activities include sharing results, engaging with GoV proactively,
sharing and promoting best practices, linking with other working groups,
exchange visits, capacity building of provincial governments...
