Social Performance Management Working Group
The microfinance sector in Vietnam is developing at a healthy pace. Not only is the sector still growing, but microfinance institutions in Vietnam are increasingly looking for better ways to reach marginalized and poor communities. In order to achieve this, they need to become more professional, and design products that will meet the specific needs of marginalized peoples. Professional Social Performance Management (SPM) is becoming increasingly important in the implementation of Financial Inclusion. The Social Performance Management Working Group has been established based on the needs of several international non-governmental organisations (INGOs), Vietnamese non-governmental organisations (VNGOs) and microfinance institutions (MFIs). They will learn from each other, introduce professional approaches to SPM, enhance communication, and improve their practices to be more sustainable and inclusive of marginalised clients.
To enhance the social value of microfinance in general, and particularly the financial inclusion of vulnerable groups, by promoting SPM policies and practices among NGOs, MFIs, local authorities and other stakeholders in the microfinance sector in Vietnam.
