Context
VVOB – Education for Development is a Belgium-based organization that strengthens education systems worldwide. We believe that quality education ensures equal opportunities and leads to a more equitable world for all. Our main objective is to sustainably reinforce the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of education and training by focusing on the professional development of teachers and on effective school leadership.
Currently, VVOB Vietnam is implementing one project within the Early Childhood Education (ECE) sector and two projects in the Primary Education (PE) sector:
- ECE project “TALK: Preschool Teachers Apply Language-rich Teaching Skills and Knowledge” in Dien Bien, Quang Tri and Gia Lai (01/2022 – 12/2026)
- PE project “iPLAY: Integrating Play-based Learning Activities among Young learners in Vietnam” in Lai Chau, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Da Nang, Quang Ngai and Ho Chi Minh City (Phase 1: 12/2019 – 07/2025, Phase 2: 08/2025 – 07/2029 under development)
- PE project “PlayHi: Learning through Play integration in higher education teacher training in Vietnam” (1/3/2025 – 28/2/2029)

Positions
VVOB Vietnam is currently looking for the qualified national candidates for the position as detailed below:
Education Advisor for iPlay project (Based in Da Nang or Ha Noi)
Education Advisor reports to Education Manager. You are part of and work closely with your direct colleagues of the Education Department and with the project coordinators. Furthermore, you work closely together with all other departments in Vietnam and with the Strategic Education Advisors.
The Education Advisor will:
- You offer technical advice, guidance and support to internal VVOB colleagues to achieve project results and to partners in order to realize educational change processes supported by the project.
- You contribute to the identification, formulation, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project in order to realize educational change processes supported by the project.
- You take up a variety of roles in the capacity development process of the partners according to the needs of the partner and particular situations and phases of the programme;
- You keep abreast with policy trends, new developments and latest research and thinking in education and international development by external and internal networking and share new insights with partners and VVOB colleagues.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Master’s degree in education, human sciences, or other relevant field or equivalent experience Knowledge of and experience with programme management, preferably project cycle management.
- Experience with change management and capacity development processes in the context of educational institutions.
- An in-depth understanding of national education systems and the latest developments in the education sector
- Fluent in English both in writing and speaking

Starting date and working location
Start date for the position is 01 March 2025 with frequent travel to the project provinces.
Contract duration and benefit
This position will have a one-year contract and possible extension
