Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has launched a pilot Healthcare Data Coordination System to enhance healthcare quality, improve efficiency, and support scientific research, local media reported.
As chair of the National Committee on Digital Transformation, PM Chinh inaugurated the system while leading the committee’s 10th session in Hanoi on February 6.
At the event, the prime minister directed the Ministry of Health to complete preparations for nationwide electronic medical records by mid-2025 and implement them in all hospitals by September.
He also tasked the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies, to pilot the new system at Hanoi-based Bach Mai Hospital, linking it with medical facilities in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen, as well as at Ho Chi Minh City-based Cho Ray Hospital with facilities in Binh Duong, An Giang, and select pharmacies.
