Vietnam is striving to have over 95% of its population covered by health insurance by the end of 2025, moving toward universal healthcare coverage, said Vietnam Social Security (VSS).
More than 95.5 million people are currently enrolled in health insurance, accounting for 94.2% of the country’s population, the VSS added.
In 2024, healthcare facilities nationwide provided medical examinations and treatment for 186.2 million inpatient and outpatient visits under the health insurance system, with reimbursement claims totaling VND142.98 trillion ($5.96 billion). (VOV)
