Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long signed a decision to approve a long-term education plan for disabled people through 2050, to establish specialized institutions and support centers nationwide, state media reported.
The plan aims to ensure equal access to education and lifelong learning for people with disabilities by developing a system of specialized schools and support centers.
By 2030, every province will have at least one public center for inclusive education, with one additional specialized education institution being established.
The decision also sets workforce targets, with 3,300 teachers and 7,400 support staff employed by 2030, including 900 new teachers and 5,500 new support staff. By 2050, the workforce is expected to grow to 4,900 teachers and 10,900 support staff, with 1,600 new teachers and 4,400 new support staff.
All educators and support personnel must meet professional training standards. (Phu Nu Viet Nam)
