On October 16, the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences, in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), held a workshop in Hanoi to discuss the AI Competency Framework aimed at general students, state media reported.
Prof. Dr. Le Anh Vinh, director of the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences, highlighted the significance of AI education for students, stating it would serve as a bridge to ensure students understand technology and use it responsibly.
He emphasized that this initiative is essential for equipping youth for future opportunities.
Ms. Tara O’Cornell, head of the Education Program at UNICEF Vietnam, supported the framework’s necessity and advocated for the integration of analytical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and ethics into education.
She pointed out that students need new skills to interact with AI ethically and effectively, stressing the importance of comprehensive education for future readiness.
