Over 150 Universities from Vietnam, EU Discuss Education Cooperation

Over 100 higher education institutions from Vietnam and nearly 50 from the EU are gathering in Hanoi on October 22-23 to explore cooperation opportunities through the Erasmus+ program, a key component of the 2024 European Education Week in Vietnam, state media reported.

The event, organized by the EU Delegation in Vietnam and Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MoET), has focused on strengthening academic ties between both regions.

Discussions at the conference have centered on core elements of Erasmus+, such as Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE), International Credit Mobility (ICM), and Jean Monnet Actions (JMA).

The event has also provided a platform for exploring partnerships to promote the internationalization and modernization of Vietnam’s education sector.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc stressed that education is a top priority for Vietnam, recognizing the necessity of international integration and foreign investment to enhance educational quality.

Highlighting the importance of Erasmus+ in Vietnam, he said that the program has already benefited 3,400 Vietnamese students and educators, while 54 Vietnamese candidates were awarded scholarships for postgraduate studies in 2024.
