Description
Gravity Water is a US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming rain into safe drinking water for schools in need. We are seeking a Dien Bien District Coordinator to join our Vietnam team as the lead implementer for our projects in Dien Bien province. Reporting directly to Vietnam’s Program Director, the District Coordinator will be part of a passionate and professional team committed to advancing water security and climate resilience for underserved communities across the country.
In this role, the District Project Coordinator will oversee the implementation and evaluation of Gravity Water’s initiatives within Dien Bien Province. The Coordinator will be in charge of managing all Gravity Water systems in the province, ensuring their effective operation and maintenance. Key responsibilities include coordinating with local stakeholders, managing project activities, and fostering collaboration between Gravity Water, local communities, schools, and government entities to achieve sustainable project outcomes.
Responsibilities
Essential job responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to:
- Project Implementation:
- Coordinate and oversee the deployment of Gravity Water systems in schools and communities within the assigned province.
- Working closely with the Implementation Team (Gravity Water and Cloudwell) to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and according to established quality standards.
- Supervising the Project Implementation process in coordination with the Cloudwell team
- Manage day-to-day project activities, including site assessments, planning, project recording and reporting according to the Organization’s procedure.
- Stakeholder Coordination:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, community leaders, school administrators, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate community engagement and ensure that local needs and perspectives are incorporated into project planning before Implementation.
- Organize and lead community meetings, workshops, and training sessions (if any)
3. Managing Provincial MEL Activities
- Manage monthly reporting activities of installed systems
- Validate monthly reporting data of schools
- Manage incident information (if any) and create a troubleshooting/maintenance plan to send to the Maintenance Team.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on project status, challenges, and achievements.
- Advocate for local policies and practices that support water access and sustainability.
- Financial support
- Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets and expenditures.
- Ensure the documentation process complies with financial and operational policies and procedures.
- Reporting and Other Administrative Works.
- Prepare Periodic reports for assigned projects
- Store documents related to the assigned projects
- Ensure the updating of information and data related to each system/project according to the organization’s regulations
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Based in Dien Bien.
- Experience in water or education sectors is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Have tech/computer proficiency.
- A minimum of 1 year’s experience in project implementation, showcasing strong skills in planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Fluency in English is preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in WASH Program
- Experience working in an INGO/NGO.
- Experience in WASH-related implementation
