- Background
World Vision is a Christian relief and development organisation working to create lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities living in poverty. World Vision serves all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender. As a child-focused organization, World Vision’s (WV) work focuses on children, ensuring they are protected and their basic needs are met. WVV’s current strategy focuses on Nutrition, Child Protection and Sustainable Livelihoods.
World Vision Vietnam is implementing the Transforming Household Resilience In Vulnerable Environments Project (THRIVE 2030) in 25 existing and 6 potential APs. The project goal is: “Households and communities build improved, resilient, and sustainable livelihoods for child well-being.” The project aims to improve economic empowerment and the accessibility of financial services for the most vulnerable households in target communities.
Under the THRIVE Project, gender equality and women’s economic empowerment are key to achieving success. In August 2024, the Gender Inclusive Financial Literacy (GIFT) TOT training was successfully conducted in Hanoi, with the participation of core staff expected to effectively operate THRIVE project activities. This training was appreciated as a new approach aiming to promote both women’s and men’s access to and adoption of financial literacy skills, while also fostering more genderequitable relations at the household level.
