Recruitment of the
Technical Experts
General Summary/Background:
Chemonics International, a US-based international development consulting firm, seeks a range of technical experts for the anticipated USD $10-25 million USAID Vietnam Innovation Ecosystem Activity. This project aims to support the Government of Vietnam (GVN)’s efforts to strengthen Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem to drive the development and productivity of Vietnamese value-added enterprises
The project is anticipated to have the following objectives:
- Improve business enabling environment challenges and constraints to commercialize and implement innovative 4IR (“Industrial Revolution 4.0”) technologies or processes, by investing in growth-oriented businesses, to increase firms’ productivity;
- Strengthen the interconnections between actors engaged in innovative 4IR technologies or processes, and furnish support and resources;
- Enhance the capabilities of the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s (MPI) National Innovation
Center (NIC) to facilitate the development of Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem
We are seeking experts with experience in one or more of the technical areas listed below:
- Innovation ecosystems
- Institutional strengthening in higher education
- Private sector engagement with business support organizations, investors, and corporations
- Capacity building for startups and growth-oriented business
- Improving business enabling environments
- Institutional strengthening for government and public sector actors in innovation ecosystem development
- Monitoring, evaluation, and learning
Qualifications:
- Degree in relevant field for technical, mid-level, and senior-level positions.
- Five to 15 years’ experience, depending on the position.
- Experience in Vietnam or other Asian countries is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience working on USAID or other donor-funded projects is preferred.
- Demonstrated versatility and integrity.
- Professional written and spoken English skills are required.
- Nationals of Vietnam are encouraged to apply.
