BirdlLife International in Indochina is the leading agency in facilitating the Global Environment Facility/World Bank (GEF/WB) funded project entitled 'Integrating watershed and biodiversity management in Chu Yang Sin National Park, Dak Lak Province' (IWBM). The IWBM project seeks to establish public support and effective management for Chu Yang Sin National Park (CYSNP), located in Krong Bong and Lak Districts, 60 km southeast of Buon Ma Thuat Town in Dak Lak Province, Vietnam.
The main objective of the work is to inform current policy debates in Viet Nam on the role that social service delivery plays in promoting human development in contexts of socioeconomic transformation, such as the one that Viet Nam is currently undergoing.
In addition, the Consultant is expected to contribute to the promotion of the human development paradigm and human development analysis in Viet Nam. - Manage the preparation of the 2010 Viet Nam National Human Development Report. - Coordinate all inputs necessary for the completion of the NHDR by 2010. - Lead the process of drafting the 2010 Viet Nam National Human Development Report.
The Agriculture and Rural Development Sector Programme Support (ARD SPS) 2007-2012 is sponsored by the Danish International Development Assistance Agency (DANIDA) for the duration of 5 years of 2007-2012 with the purpose of “reducing rural poverty, especially among the ethnic minorities, through sustainable agricultural and rural development focusing on the uplands”. The Central Component includes two outputs: (i) Policy and Strategy Development implemented by the Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development (IPSARD), and (ii) Innovative Approaches for Sustainable Upland Livelihoods done by the Department of Science and Technology (DST).
1. BACKGROUND INFORMATION To strengthen the capacity of civil society actors on climate change mitigation, adaptation, and policy advocacy, the Embassy of Finland is funding a three-year, €222,000 capacity building project on climate change for the staff, management, and local partners of civil society organizations in Vietnam (Capacity building project). The Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) is coordinating the project, in collaboration with members of two civil society networks: the VUFO-NGO Resource Center’s NGO Climate Change Working Group (CCWG) and the Network of Vietnam Civil Society Organizations and Climate Change (VCSO&CC).
