“Socio-Economic” Project Officer
Handicap International France (HI F) is a non-governmental organisation created in 1982. HI mission is to assist people in situations of disability or vulnerability, whatever may be the underlying cause and environment. This is done through the implementation of multidisciplinary programmes concerning prevention, treatment, empowerment, integration and emergency intervention. HI has worked in Vietnam since 2001 and is developing projects targeting people living with disabilities, extremely vulnerable persons and persons living with HIV or AIDS.
HI is seeking for a candidate and who is willing to integrate and participate in their team work.
“Socio-Economic” Project Officer (PO)
Based in Quang Tri Province (frequent missions in Laos)
Project Goals:
- Contribute to the decrease of HIV/AIDS impact on groups of vulnerable populations
- Provide a better access to HIV/AIDS prevention, care, protection and support systems through the capacity building of existing and emerging organizations for the different discriminated groups of population in Lao and Vietnam.
Duration of the project: 3 years / Project started date: December 2008
Responsibilities:
- Under the responsibility of the Project Manager (PM) of HIV Prevention and Education Project – Quang Tri Province, the PO works in the frame of Quang Tri project:
- Participate to operational relationships with the different project partners on socio-economic component (ACEP and Red Cross,)
- Bring a technical support to ACEP’s staff for implementing social economical activities
- With the HI’s team, ACEP staffs to elaborate the monitoring tools
- Monitor the activities of ACEP and Red Cross
- Organize trainings to build the capacity of partners
- Provide expertise for partners;
- Bring a technical support to PLHIV’s members to help them in their Personal Development Plan
- Responsible for reporting the activities of ACEP, of Red Cross and the technical support to PLHIV
Requirements:
- Written and verbal fluency in English
- University degrees relevant to the position
- Experience in community development work or related fields, involved in social, disability and development fields
- Experience in project management, understanding of monitoring and evaluation.
- Demonstrated familiarity with ethnic minorities fields and micro-credit fields
- Demonstrated ability to work as a part of a team with minimum of supervision, exercise judgment, meet deadlines and work under pressure
- At least 3 years professional experience with an international organization preferably an NGO
- Considerable field work and travelling experience
- Motivated, responsible, takes initiative, and well organized
- Computer literate (Word, Excel)
