250-kg Bomb Defused in Hanoi City

The Vietnamese Army Engineer Corps successfully deactivated a 250-kg bomb in Hanoi’s Dong Anh District on June 24. The 1.54m-long bomb contained 192 kg of explosive. The device was highly dangerous because the explosive was found on its fuse, the corps said. The bomb was believed to have been released in 1972 when the US Air Force was flying missions over northern Vietnam.
