980kg Bomb Defused in Quang Binh Province

A 980-kg bomb was successfully deactivated in Vietnam’s central province of Quang Binh's Kim Thuy commune June 29. The 2.9m-long bomb, with a diameter of 35cm, contained 445kg of explosive, the Gia Dinh & Xa Hoi reported July 1. Earlier, local authorities also detonated 28 wartime shrapnel bombs at sub-area 11 in Nam Ly ward, Dong Hoi city. They warned the public to avoid any discovered ordnance and report it immediately to the relevant authorities.
