Australia Donates $9.76M for Vietnam’s HIV Fight

The Australian government has pledged AUD10.7 million ($9.76 million) for a project to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS associated with drug use in Vietnam, the Phap Luat Vietnam newspaper reported Mar. 26. Vietnam’s Ministry of Health and the HIV/AIDS Asia Regional Program (HAARP), initiated by Australian Government, signed the project deal in Hanoi Mar 25.  The project will be carried out in three northern mountainous provinces of Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang and Bac Kan between 2010 and 2013.
