Australia Helps Vietnam Respond to Climate Change

The Australian government is investing in a EUR1 million project to study the impact and produce responses to climate change in Vietnam.
Allaster Cox, the Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, made the announcement at the first Mekong Delta Climate Change Forum held in Can Tho City on Nov. 12-13.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment said that the project will aim to define solutions and policies and enhance the capacity building for organizations in responding to the consequences.
The ministry added that the issue of climate change should be integrated into the State’s socio-economic development plans and strategies to help the administrative offices and scientific institutes gain a panoramic view of the situation and devise appropriate solutions.
