Austria to Fund EUR17M for Health Project in Central Vietnam

The government of Austria has agreed to provide EUR17 million in ODA for Vietnam’s central province of Thua Thien-Hue to upgrade a tumor treatment center at Hue Central Hospital. Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam Georg Heindl announced the aid during his working visit to the province on Nov. 30, state media reported. Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Thien thanked the Austrian government for their help and expressed his wish that the province will continue to receive assistance for education, science, technology, music and fine arts. Thua Thien-Hue also proposed the implementation of some integrated programs to encourage and foster Austrian business investment.
