Belgium Funds EUR10M to Help Vietnam Improve Water Sources Management

The government of Belgium has financed EUR10 million to a project to improve water sources management in Vietnam’s central province of Ninh Thuan. Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam Hubert Cooreman and Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Cao Viet Sinh signed an aid agreement in Hanoi on Dec. 7, the Thoi bao Kinh te newspaper reported Dec. 8. The project that costs EUR13.07 million in total aims to raise the quality of public services, especially the water sector and boost economic growth including agricultural development.  The project is scheduled for implementation in next five years with the support of the Belgian Technical Cooperation (BTC), the newspaper added. The government of Vietnam will contribute EUR3.07 million of reciprocal capital to the project.
