Call for Proposal: Are You Interested in Creating Social and Environmental Change in Vietnam?

The Global Compact Network Vietnam (GCNV) is an alliance of companies, government, trade unions, United Nations and non-governmental organisations. The GCNV exists to promote the principles of the United Nations Global Compact (www.unglobalcompact.org) through which it aims to improve the social and environmental conditions of Vietnam workers, their communities and the performance of the companies they work for.  The GCNV was launched in 2007 by VCCI in partnership with the UNDP.
The GCNV is currently seeking to support innovative partnership projects which aim at improving social and environmental conditions in Vietnam.

If you are a national or international Non- governmental organisation (NGO), development organisation (including UN bodies), private company or academic organisation you may be elidible to receive funding from the GCNV-Parternership Scheme (GCNV-PS).

The GCNV-PS funds focus on providing support in the following areas:- Labour, Environment, Anti-corruption, Human rights and related issues such as poverty reduction, child labour, gender, health and social inclusion.
  
Over ther next 12 months the GCNV-PS can make a contribution to up to 90% of project funds, up to the total cost of USD60,000. Support will be given to projects which meet GCNV-PS criteria and whose activities are completed by December 2010. Priority will be given to applications received from members of the GCNV.

Proposals will be assessed on a monthly basis by representatives from the GCNV and UNDP. The deadline for submission of proposals will be the 15th of each month, commencing October 2009.
