Canada Funds $1.7M Project for Safe Pork

The agricultural quality control arm of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) has agreed to help Ho Chi Minh City devise and monitor hygiene standards for pork. The Food and Agricultural Products Quality Development and Control Project (FAPQDC) and the city Department of Agriculture and Rural Development signed an agreement on Mar. 23 for the purpose. The department’s Deputy Director, Nguyen Phuoc Trung, said the CIDA-funded project would cost around $1.7 million. The project will go on until Dec. 2013.
