Chief Accountant

Blue Dragon is an NGO working with disadvantaged children in Vietnam. We are a passionate and young organisation and they are currently looking for a full-time Chief Accountant to join their team in Hanoi, starting immediately.

Key objectives of this position
- Manage Blue Dragon’s finances and administration effectively and accurately
- Ensure adherence to the Blue Dragon's finance manual
- Assist the Director in effective program management

Job Description:
- Implement sound accounting procedures
- Develop, review and monitor financial guidelines and administrative policies
- Manage the Finance Department
- Review and oversee financial reports
- Report both internally to Management and externally to donors
- Coordinate with the Communication Department
- Participate in the Management Team
- Conduct Year-end finance procedures in June every year
- Coordinate the budget process every year
- Prepare the financial side of the audit
- Assist the Auditing Team when the audit is conducted

Essential Criteria:
- Passion and enthusiasm for working with disadvantage young people in Vietnam
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in accounting and financial management
- Demonstrated integrity of character
- Ability to take initiative and find creative solutions
- Ability to manage a small team of staff
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and have excellent leadership and teamwork skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent written and oral English
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Desirable criteria
- Previous managerial experience
- Experience using QuickBooks accounting software
