Commodity Chain Specialist for Plant Production
The Food and Agricultural Products Quality Development and Control Project (FAPQDC) funded by Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) during 2008-2013 has been implemented by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with University of Montreal, Canada. The general objective of the FAPQDC project is to improve the quality, safety and marketability of agricultural and food production system through enhancement of management capacity, production processing , monitoring and extension of agricultural food market. The FAPQDC project is looking for a Commodity Chain Specialist for Plant Production. The selected candidate will work full-time at the Project Management Unit (PMU) for a one year contract with extension possibility.
Commodity chain specialist for plant production
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Play the key role in designing and coordinating all the activities implemented at the pilot projects
- Carry out the day to day operational management of the pilot projects in line with the project policies and procedures
- Participate and manage quality controls around all technical aspects of the pilot projects
- Manage timely completion of inputs and outputs as per project work schedule
- Develop and maintain good relations with local government partners and stakeholders
- Undertake frequent fieldtrips to project pilot areas
- Carry out other relevant duties as may required by the Project
Requirements:
- Have BSc degree (MSc preferably) in crop production, plant protection, food technologies or relevant fields
- At least 5-7 years of work experience in agricultural products quality and safety control
- Willing and be able to frequently travel to provinces within Vietnam
- Good interpersonal, communication, organizational and team work skills as well as work independently
- Proficient English and Good Computer skills
