This position reports to and is supervised by Country Manager. S/he will work closely with the regional communications officer in Vietnam

Job Summary
The Communications officer (CO) will have primary responsibility for designing and producing newsletter, managing the Vietnam’s website, production of communications material, and coordination of visits by donors. S/he will also be involved in translation services and collection of case studies. The CO will work in close cooperation with Regional Communication Officer to boost the Foundation’s profile in Vietnam and Australia.

Main tasks & responsibilities
- Design and produce Vietnamese Newsletter: collect information on project activities for publications in Newsletter and organize the production and distribution of Newsletter.
- Manage FHF Vietnam website: work with IT officer and FHF Australia website specialist to ensure high quality up-to-date Vietnamese website.
- Produce communications material: identify opportunities to promote the Foundation's work through high-quality materials, produce posters, banners, pamphlets, etc… for promotional work and information sheet and PowerPoint presentation on the Foundation's work as requested by the Country Manager.
- Coordinate visits by donors: work together with Regional Communications Officer to organize visits of donors and other stakeholders to FHF Vietnam projects.
- Collect and write case stories on Foundation's activities for donors: travel to projects' sites to collect information and write stories as requested by Country Manager and work with Regional Communications Officer to produce case stories
- Provide translation services when needed

Other duties:
- Be willing to travel to projects’ fields
- Manage budget for FHF Vietnam's communications.
- Understand and comply with FHF Vietnam policies.
- Work with FHF Australia Public Affairs as requested
- Support Regional Communications Officer as required
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Country Manager

Selection Criteria and Qualifications
This position is for a Vietnamese national with a University degree (Postgraduate degree preferred) in a related field with very good English and Vietnamese language skills and at least 3 years of work experience in a similar position with an international organization, or NGO. In addition, candidates with the following competencies are preferred:
- Previous work experience in the development sector
- Experience of working with or in the media or other communication field
- Knowledge of media networks, knowledge/information management
- Excellent communication skills
- Good written and spoken English
- Good computer skills
- Commitment to the mission and values of The Fred Hollows Foundation
- Willing to travel in country and overseas as business required
