Food Poisoning Attacks 24 People in Danang City

As many as 24 people in Vietnam’s central city of Danang were hospitalized Sept 16 due to food poisoning, the Phap Luat Thanh Pho Ho Chi Minh newspaper reported Sept 17. The victims reportedly suffered from symptoms of headache, vomiting and diarrhea after eating steam sticky rice and chickens in a street food stall in Thanh Khe district’ Xuan Ha ward. Local health taskforces took the samples of food and waste for testing to find the poisoning cause, the newspaper added. In Aug, the country witnessed 17 cases in nine provinces and cities, claiming two lives and affecting 915 people, up 30.77%, down 33.33% and up 447.9% on-month, respectively.
